I am so excited to announce the Junior High Student Worship Choir Mission Trip city for 2012.This year we have an amazing opportunity to serve the city of Atlanta, GA. We will be traveling after school Friday April 27- Monday evening April 30, to conduct service projects and worship concerts throughout this historic city.We will be partnering and ministering with homeless shelters, youth detention centers, local churches and public outreach concerts.But most of all, to bring hope and encouragement and the Good News of Jesus! Here are a few important dates for you to put on your calendar.
Application Deadline:
Student Applications will be made available online starting Sunday, January 15. You will receive an email after choir rehearsal with your student’s record ID number. Once you receive this, you can begin the application process. The application deadline is Sunday, February 19. So don’t delay!!!
Parent Sponsor Application – WE NEED YOU! If you are looking for a way to serve and are interested in being an adult sponsor for mission trip, then this is YOUR trip! Your application is due Sunday, February 19...and just like the students, you can find your application online. (You do not need a record ID number.)
Important Parent Meeting:
There will be an informational parent meeting regarding the Junior High Choir Mission Trip to Atlanta, GA. The meeting will be held on Sunday, April 22 from 1:30-2:00 p.m. in Room A210-211.
Weekend Choir Rehearsals:
Our 3rd Annual Mission Retreat!! The Junior High Choir will be taking a road trip to Hoblitzelle Camp in Midlothian on February 24-25, 2010. This is a top-notch facility and a great place to just get away. We will depart Friday after school and will return on Saturday mid afternoon. This overnight retreat will allow our sponsors to meet their students, and we’ll begin digging in to our mission trip music, be spiritually charged, and have some fun too! The cost of the retreat IS included in the cost of the mission trip.
Weekly Attendance this spring will be crucial to the success of this choir mission trip! Extended rehearsals will begin on Sunday, March 25. Choir will meet together from 1–2:00 p.m., and then split into family groups from 2-2:30 on March 25, April 1 and April 15.Students need to plan on being here each of those Sundays. There will be no choir rehearsal on Sunday, Feb. 12 (Freedom Weekend), March 4 & 11 (Spring Break) and April 8 (Easter).
Every day I am blown away by what God is doing in and through our students. It is amazing on mission trips to see Him work through students who are willing to be used. I am looking forward to what He will accomplish in the months to come. I pray that you and your student will be involved for the spring semester of Junior High Worship!
